Preparation Pack

As penetration testers, we have an endless list of positives to talk about, but these are the top three we agreed on.
Money. This is probably one of the most popular incentives. In the start of your career as a junior, you're looking to earn around £40k ($50k). Your salary goes up with more experience and responsibility, with seniors earning £60-90k ($80-120k) and the head of pentesting earning £120-220k+ ($160-300k+).
It's fun! This is the reason why we stay. Trying to find an exploitable weakness is thrilling and akin to playing a puzzle game. The community and your future team are likely to be supportive; celebrating awesome findings.
You can work 100% remote. Sometimes companies may require site visits for internal infrastructure assessments, but it depends on the company. Other's prefer dropboxes for these assessments, to save costs. You have the freedom to choose hotel/ home life.
Ofcourse we're biased, however, pentesting isn't for anyone.
Constant learning. Security improves and so attacks get more creative. It’s important to keep up to date with the latest exploitation techniques in order to impress and move up in your career.
Tedious reporting. No matter how good of a hacker you are, the product you deliver is the report. It has to be in professional, well written English that tells the story to both technical and non technical audiences.
It’s an unhealthy job. You sit down for long periods of time and especially if you work remote, your health will be affected heavily. It’s important to do extra work outside, get a standing desk, whatever you can to prevent health issues.
You’ll have all the prerequisite knowledge required to start the certifications, effectively jumpstarting your penetration testing career.
You’ll get lifetime access to materials if in need of refreshing with one purchase. No subscription model - own it forever. This is especially useful if looking to pass the CRT/CSTM after the OSCP later on in your career, or redeem any expiring certifications, you won’t have to pay to access it again.
You’ll have learnt a number of security fundamentals. If you choose that pentesting isn’t for you, there’s other forms of cybersecurity that may be more fitting. The knowledge gained from this course provides a strong backbone in all forms of cybersecurity careers.
“Fantastic course for the price, I've seen similar go for 300+! Super friendly guys as well. Emailed them on a topic I was confused about and they helped me out. Cheers guys.”
“As an art student with as much IT knowledge as an old grandpa I can confidently say this has been great for a beginner. My goals are to become an ethical hacker as fast as possible and this course gives you everything you need to do that. The quizzes are great and keep you accountable for actually learning the stuff. After completing it I feel more confident in starting the OSCP, which I will do after a bit more practical practice.”
“This was just what I was looking for, the course provides exactly the fundamental knowledge you need to know about for penetration testing. Very happy with what I learnt in it.”
“I’m already a pen tester but my company bought this course to get me ready for the CPSA/CRT. This course has been a great refresher, it has relevant parts from network+ that you need to know without the unnecessary stuff.”
A complete beginner should aim to take the OSCP, even in the UK and countries where CREST/CHECK is more accepted and recognised. This is because the OSCP provides valuable 3 months practical labs to help prepare you. Although our course helps to prepare you with prerequisite knowledge, practical practice is also needed. Furthermore, usually the CRT/CSTM is taken to obtain check team member (CTM) status. This kind of status can only be obtained with security clearance and 12 months of industry experience. Therefore it would be redundant for a complete beginner to do it. Consider it after a year as a junior, you’d get a salary boost with it as well.
It depends on how much time you have to complete it. If you have more time and aim to complete it as fast as possible, it can be finished within a week. Otherwise with a full time job it can take up to two months. This course has roughly 50 hours worth of content and quizzes.
Yes! This course is tailored for complete beginners in all things IT. It bridges the gap to learn the prerequisite knowledge required to take on the harder courses such as the OSCP, or exams such as the CPSA/CRT & CSTM.
Alongside a free preview (consisting of 8 lessons and 1 quiz), we have a 100% money back guarantee - provided the course is within the 7 day period and under 20% complete, we will provide a full refund. Contact [email protected] to arrange a refund.
